Civil Rights and Equity |
To build a union where members of all cultures, religions, sexual orientations, gender, disabilities, ages and nationalities feel welcomed, respected and heard; and where the leadership reflects the diversity of our membership. |
Community Services |
Shall assist in developing all Community Services Programs and making the community aware of what we do for them. |
Education |
Shall assist in developing the Local’s education program and, with the Local’s officers, be responsible for effectuating the Union’s and Local’s educational programs. |
Election |
Shall conduct all nominations and elections and referenda of this Local. |
Finance |
To make recommendations to the E-Board for the membership’s approval. |
LPATs |
Shall assist in developing and pursuing the program of the Union and the Local in the Legislative-Political field. It shall be responsible for the Local’s program to register each qualified voter. |
Membership |
Shall accept or reject membership applications in accordance with the bylaws and rules of this Local and Article V of the CWA Constitution and the policies of the Union. The Organizing Committee to become part of the Membership Committee and shall assist the local’s officers and members in organizing all non-union employees within the local’s jurisdiction. |
Organizing |
Shall assist the Local officers and members in organizing all non-union employers within the Local’s jurisdiction. |
Woman’s |
To educate, inspire and empower women while working all sides of the CWA triangle. |
By-Laws |
Amend and change the By-Laws, fill out and complete the MLO forms and submit them to the National. |
Committe Laws |
Members of all committees shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Local officers, subject to the right of the Local membership to overrule such appointments. Vacancies on committees shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments. Any member of any Local 1078 committee may be removed by majority vote of the Local 1078 Officers, subject to the right of the Local 1078 to overrule the action of the Local 1078 Officers. A committee member may also be removed by action of the Local 1078 in a membership meeting. |
